It's been a while since I've been this disappointed in a book...
Ok, so the last one was my favorite in the series and it set the bar pretty damn high, but still. This one was so different from what I had become used to in the other books - and not in a good way.
Absinthe of Malice is all about the guys in the band interacting with each other and their lovers. POV switches often as we are invited into scenes with the various couples. There is love and fears, old and new demons and I do still love these guys. But it just got so boring. There is very little action here and barely a hint of any kind of bad guys. It felt like the whole book was just building up to the minor cliffhanger at the end and even that did not spark the level of interest it should. At that point I just wanted it to be over. The ending did still ensure, though that I will be back for more when the next book is out.
And as always, Tristan James nailed the narration.
