His Rules Anthology

His Rules Anthology - Sean Michael, Morticia Knight, L.M. Somerton, Lily Harlem, Samantha Cayto, S. Dora 'Time Out' by Sean Michael - ****
Basically just one ‘getting-back-together’-scene. Hot and sweet at the same time.

'Strict Consequences' by Morticia Knight - ****
The sweetest story in the book. Garson wants Jarvis but is afraid to offer up his heart. Luckily, Jarvis has plenty of patience and doesn’t give up in his quest to show Garson he can be what Garson needs.

'Tagging Mackenzie' by L. M. Somerton - ****
Kenzie has wanted Steele to notice him for quite some time. One night, in frustration, he makes sure to catch the dom’s attention in a way that is sure to earn him punishment. Which Steele is more than willing to dish out. Again – hot and sweet.

'Bad Idea' by Lily Harlem - ***
Being gay in the Roughneck Riders MC is not on the agenda. So Heavy and Junk have to keep their relationship to themselves and can only get together in secret. I loved the connection but the tentative HFN was not enough. I almost felt sad.

'Safeword' by Samantha Cayto - ***
After the mostly light mood of the first stories, this one was like darkness coming down. Carter is the unwilling slave of an arms dealer who lends him out to his business associates to do with as they please. Now it is Damien’s turn to enjoy Carter’s services for a weekend. But much to Carter’s surprise, Damien is not like the others and actually treats him right making Carter actually enjoy their time together.
Even though Damien is ‘a good guy’ I still had an uneasy feeling through it all. Their scenes were hot but I could not shake the overall dub-con vibe I got from the storyline surrounding those scenes.
The ending was sweet, though, although it suffered from the typical problem of short stories not having the space to really make a truly satisfying ending.

'Earning His Leathers' by S. Dora - ***
From the blurb, I was expecting this to be mainly about Connor and Jesse. But we barely saw Jesse. Most of the time was about Connor training to be a dom by basically taking on the role of a sub. Meaning it didn’t feel right. Kneeling or beeing tied up does not come natural to Connor and he is uncomfortable doing it.
Then the training briefly turned into porn until it all wrapped up in an ending that stroke me as a bit odd and too open for my taste.
