Life After Joe

Life After Joe - Harper Fox Matt is struggling to come to terms with being alone after Joe left him. Drinking and screwing his way through life. The whole atmosphere of his existence is dark, depressed, raw, and painful. And so well-written.

He meets Aaron at a club and is overwhelmed with how Aaron treats him with kindness and respect even after having seen him at his worst.
They move towards a tentative relationship when suddenly both their pasts seem to throw a stick in the weel.
I loved it all. It was so romantic and at the same time somehow still covered in a cloak of pain and potential darkness until they finally find their way towards a brighter future.
I see more Harper Fox books in my own not too distant future, that's for sure.
